Literacy techniques

Composers use literacy techniques when writing texts to assist in conveying or heightening the meaning of their words. Instead of writing paragraphs in a pure language, writers provide more emphasis for their passage through the use of literacy skills. Literacy techniques help in giving more meaning to a subject or make it more interesting. The writer has used literacy techniques in her writing which makes the text outstanding. The writer has used an extended metaphor in the first which gives a comparison of different life stages. An extended metaphor is a comparison between unlike objects that continues in the sentences of a paragraph.

The conceit may be found in more than a single sentence or even the whole paragraph. First, the author talks about how youthful events shape our lives and then compares our childhood to celluloid edited from a long movie. The writer has used the technique successfully in the opening of her story. The conceit tells us how our youths determine our future lives and introduce the story of her life as a kid.

The writer also uses other techniques in the body of her text like exclamation and epiphany. Epiphany is used where the writer also came to a sudden realization that her mother took her to school only while in kindergarten then she fell sick. The author had used an exclamation when she remembers when her mother took her to school. These styles have been used efficiently, and the reader can see how the mother was compassionate towards her kid. The exclamation used by the author showed how she was emotional that her mother had left her very young. I think that the author has used the literacy techniques well because their usage helps us to understand the relationship between the mother and her child.

The author has employed a sad tone for most of the story.  The author used an unhappy mood when she remembered about her mother lying in the hospital bed. The writer expresses the feeling of sadness while she walked into the house and tried to remember how she stayed with her mother. The author does not feel happy when their friends go to their mothers, and she does not have a mother to cook for her. The author also explains how her perspectives have changed throughout her lifetime, but the film has never transformed. The author claims that some situations in life have been so cruel to her, but she always prayed to overcome them. The writer says that she would like her son to live a better life and she continuously embraced him when life became harsh.

The author provides an excellent conclusion because she brings us to her adult stage and how she lived her life. She compares her childhood the celluloid from the movie scenes and concludes by saying that the parts never changed, but her perceptive had changed. It shows us that her life had shaped her and she always wanted to protect her son so that he can live a better life. In her conclusion, she explains how her life has changed even if she does not understand why she faced such a cruel life. However, the author has not revealed to us how she coped with life in the absence of her mother which would help the reader to understand her life experiences better.
