In the research report “The culture of safety: results of an organization-wide survey in 15 California Hospitals,” Singer et al discuss and review the results of a survey conducted at 15 different hospitals that was designed to measure the extent to which a “culture of safety” existed in each facility. According to the report, the nature of the survey covered a more extensive range of personnel than previous studies; respondents included senior management and hospital officials, physicians, nurses, and other employees. The report indicated that a significant number of facilities demonstrated the need for making improvements in developing a culture of safety in their respective hospitals.
CSR Threshold determines the timing as to when and where the CSR should be undertaken in the organization. The threshold determines whether the organization is ready to pursue the policy or not and thus its implementation. The threshold enables the business entity to relate its core business and expectations of the society. Different organizations have varied CSR threshold due to the culture of the organization, competition levels in the industry and nature of the services and products offered. Implementation of the CSR policy varies from the organization to organization, for instance the current environment and the attitude of top management towards the CSR affects the threshold. In most manufacturing firms CSR threshold does not change due to environmental factors like the service industry where the attitude of the top management determines extent of participation in social activities.
You work in an organization where miscommunication seems to be the norm. You are tasked with correcting this problem. What steps would you take in developing an effective organizational communication plan?
First to note in dealing with situations involving miscommunication and insubordination is to look at how the system of connection between the employees and the higher authorities is established. Through noting this factor that defines the organization, it is believed that there could a better sense of understanding the core reason behind the problem. Once the source of the problem is known and noted, working around it through conferring different sets of resolution to the matter should be accomplished. Once the suggestions for resolutions are intact and are supported with relevant resources, the choices for resolving the problem should be presented to the board. During the presentation, it is essential that the causes and the effects of the arising problem should be given attention to through each point of explanation. This will lead the board of directors to understand the urgency of the need to provide a resolution to the impending situation of miscommunication within the organization.
Implementing change in virtually any organizational context is necessary to ensure the continued improvement of products and/or services as new information becomes available. The health care industry is especially susceptible to such changes, as the wellbeing of patients will be compromised if any system within an organization fails to adapt to emerging issues. In general, the change process will result in the reallocation of resources and requires a significant number of steps regardless of the scope of the modifications being at the level of unit, department, or the whole organization. The inherent complexity of any process of change is based on the ultimate need to consider ramifications on the entire system, even when direct alterations are only made to a relatively small subgroup. However, the nature of the organization and the specific issues at hand will have a major impact on both resource allocations and the number of steps required in the change process.
I believe Millie Tasha was right. She mentioned several aspects that require rectification in the Laboratory. According to her the lab scientists could not provide contact between toxicity as well as efficacy testing groups. They did not any form of contact until completion. This therefore means that there could not be any form of drug tests in between. This caused long delays since testing groups were often occupied doing other matters. This therefore meant that the tests could not be handled promptly. New drug projects need to be well planned as well as enhanced. Lack of organizational policies can distort sales, marketing as well as keeping time which is important in drug stores and drug creation. In future the laboratory must encourage different forms of efficacy testing groups in between. This will lower the delays and the time wasted. Planning is also important.
1.Do you think there should be a separate category called “Women’s Health”? Why or why not?
Women’s Health is a field which addresses concerns and conditions which specifically affect women. Because women have different health issues than men, it is beneficial to have an area which focuses on these issues and how they are related to women. For example, breast health is a concern for many women. Issues such as breast cysts, breast cancer, and breast augmentation are more likely to affect women than men. Also, certain hormones and their fluctuations cause women to face specific problems relating to menstruation, menopause, and disorders affecting the female reproductive organs. Hormonal changes may also predispose women to more autoimmune conditions such as hypothyroidism and lupus. Women may often manifest certain diseases differently such as heart disease. According to the Mayo Clinic (2011), women do not have the “typical” symptoms such as chest pain. Women often experience discomfort in the neck, shoulder, upper back, or abdomen. Other symptoms which may be ignored include shortness of breath, sweating, nausea or vomiting, fatigue, or dizziness. Women usually have blockages in smaller arteries along with the main arteries; a condition called microvascular disease. By providing a specific field which relates to women, both patients and health care providers are able to better understand various diseases and create more effective treatment plans.
In Robert Frost’s 1914 poem, “Mending Wall” the speaker talks about a stone wall that runs between his and his neighbor’s property. He describes how each spring the men meet and walk the wall together, each on their own side, replacing the fallen stones and repairing the wall. The speaker muses on the reason for the wall, wondering why it is there at all since there are only pine trees on the neighbor’s side, apple trees on his. In the speaker’s view, walls should not exist just to be a wall. The neighbor counters with the old saying, “Good fences make good neighbors.” The speaker challenges his neighbor’s old-fashioned thinking light-heartedly, asking if that doesn’t only pertain to cows being present, of which neither neighbor has. However, his neighbor holds his view, repeating the old adage. Frost’s poem can best be further examined by applying eight different topics: symbols, point of view, theme, setting, portrayal of women, children, or minorities, irony, rhythm and meter, and conflict.
The survey was conducted on four major multivariate analyses for a variance to establish whether children who practiced homeschooling differ in degree of social skills to those who did not choose to home-school. The decision will assist the two categories of parents in making better choices concerning homeschooling. Based on the survey data, it is evident that out of the 52 participants, the mean difference was 1.68, the standard deviation was 0.47, and the variance was 0.22. Therefore, the results of the survey analysis concerning homeschooling and public schooling pointed out a significant difference between the two groups: F (1.68), p < 0.01. It implies that standards deviations and means for choosing to homeschool are insignificant because it is greater than the critical value (Engchun et al., 2018).
Marketing involves transactions and interaction between firms, businesses, and consumers. The interaction is win- win situation between the involved parties. It involves the integration of the product, price, and promotion. It identifies the potentials and capabilities of a company and its promotion of their services and products. IT and digital media strengthen the relationship between consumers and companies. It is an important tool for trade as it convinces consumers that the product is the best of its league in the market, hence building a strong brand.
I believe that the majority of applicable issues to be studied would be those that are likely to be the most influenced by culture and social institutions (and vice versa). It is a difficult task to choose the most prominent examples of interactions between medicine, health care systems, and culture. Virtually all aspects of each system have some connection to the others, and it is not easy to think of a medical situation where cultural influences are not a major consideration. Luckily, consideration of some of this week’s discussion topics will help to narrow the goal.
Hot Topic’s CEO Betsy McLaughlin’s strengths include leading by example. She claims early on that the key to the company’s success is that everyone is passionate about the work they do and everyone gets along really well. Betsy also makes sure to bring the same enthusiasm to her work and her follows could see that during their interaction with Betsy. Another strength of Betsy’s leadership is her communication skills and democratic leadership style. Everyone at Hot Topic is encouraged to be creative, contribute ideas, and personally interact with the management team should they have something to say. This open door policy improves employees’ morale as well as their motivation level.
I know that inventing something consumes a lot of time and resources. However, the end justifies the means. I believe that what has made Mr. Guerra succeed in the previous inventions is his determination and passion. If there is something that keeps one moving and persistent in any journey, be it business or invention like Mr. Guerra is passion. I believe that Mr. Guerra is passionate about his serial inventions, and that is why he has been able to excel. It has made him known worldwide, particularly in his inventions in the special effects industry (Guerra). As he looks forward to licensing his next lucrative deal successfully, I would advise that he should keep on the spirit of passion and determination. It is possible to find passion in, out, or above the law.
