Analytical Agent Technology for Complex and Dynamically Evolving Environments

Abstract

The importance of simulation environments stretches throughout the academic and corporate hemisphere as they have dealings in not only aeronautics, electronics, and chemistry, but also biology, and physicist. All these different industries rely heavily on simulators in order to better understand and validate the numerous theories that help to explain the complex and dynamic systems. The purpose of this project is investigating of simulation agent-based paradigm for designing and developing frameworks that potentially focuses on monitoring of the systems. Within this research, the use of multi-agent simulators and multi modeling agents will offer a new perspective that can be used to address the evolving complex and dynamic systems that will differ from the explanation through mathematical equations. The techniques created will be devised in developing multi-agent simulators that have the ability to track the dynamic evolving system simulated.

Investment – Literature Review

Literature Review:

Nor Edi Azhar and Noriza Binti (2012) studied 415 companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia main market during the period 2005-2010, to determine the impact of weighted average cost of capital (WACC) on the firm’s value and profitability. Through the regression analyses, they found a significant relationship between cost of capital and firm’s value and profitability. Their findings confirm that large firms have a competitive advantage against small firms because they can exploit economics of scale to obtain capital at lower costs than smaller firms.

Historical and Scientific Perspectives on Homosexuality

Homosexuality is often a topic that creates curiosity regarding how an individual “becomes” gay. Is it one’s choice to become gay or it is predetermined in one’s genetic make-up? Regardless, “homosexual people, like heterosexual people, struggle to incorporate their sexuality within their personal identity, to find lovers, and to establish satisfying lifestyles” (Rathus, Nevid, & Fichner-Rathus, 2005, p. 291, para. 7) just like heterosexual people. However, the various perspectives that pertain to homosexuality make owning their sexuality and expressing themselves freely a difficult task in some instances.

Gender Identity

For many families who are planning to conceive a child, the second trimester is usually the time the gender of the baby becomes known and is a time filled with excitement and joy. But what determines one’s gender identity? A person’s gender is “defined as the psychological sense of being female or being male and the roles society ascribes to gender” (Rathus, Nevid, & Fichner-Rathus, 2005, p. 170, para. 2). Although the root of one’s gender identity is based off of anatomical differences, either possessing the XY or XX pair of chromosomes, several different factors also determine one’s gender identity. For instance, “gender is a complex concept that is based partly on anatomy, partly on the psychology of the individual, and partly on culture and tradition” (Rathus, Nevid, & Fichner-Rathus, 2005, p. 170, para. 2).

Why does organic cost more?

Introduction

We have been witnessing several new trends in consumer lifestyles over the last few decades. First of all, consumers have been becoming more health-conscious and as a result, paying more attention to what they eat and drink. In addition, they are also become more concerned with the impact of their consumption habits on the environment. Not surprisingly, these two factors have also led to the growing popularity of organic foods and even the largest retailer in the world, Wal-Mart has also responded by introducing wide variety of organic products in its stores. The conventional wisdom about organic foods is that they are healthier and their production methods also help protect the environment. The appetite of American consumers for organics has particularly increased since Congress passed the Organic Food Production Act (OFPA) in 1990. According to the Organic Trade Association (OTA), organic food and drink sales totaled $31.5 billion in 2011 in the United States.

The Sperm and the Egg

Introduction

The key elements to production of a baby, is the carrying on of a family name, and the passing of genes, are the sperm and the egg. Every year, nearly 4 million babies are born and without the sperm and the egg communicating, this would not be possible (BabyCenter, 2009). Many changes take place and steps are completed between the preparation of intercourse and fertilization of the egg. Knowing the internal and external functions of the male and female sex organs helps one to understand the process of fertilization, clarifying which sex organs play roles in the process.

Discussion of Robert Frost’s “Mending Wall”

In Robert Frost’s 1914 poem, “Mending Wall” the speaker talks about a stone wall that runs between his and his neighbor’s property. He describes how each spring the men meet and walk the wall together, each on their own side, replacing the fallen stones and repairing the wall. The speaker muses on the reason for the wall, wondering why it is there at all since there are only pine trees on the neighbor’s side, apple trees on his. In the speaker’s view, walls should not exist just to be a wall. The neighbor counters with the old saying, “Good fences make good neighbors.” The speaker challenges his neighbor’s old-fashioned thinking light-heartedly, asking if that doesn’t only pertain to cows being present, of which neither neighbor has. However, his neighbor holds his view, repeating the old adage. Frost’s poem can best be further examined by applying eight different topics: symbols, point of view, theme, setting, irony, rhythm and meter, and conflict.

Edgar Degas and his different view of Impressionism

Art has always been a reflection of one’s idea throughout our history. It is expressed in many different forms, such as paintings, sculptures, drawings, illustrations, photographs, architecture and etc. It has transitioned from style to style and developed into distinct perceptions of art at different periods of time. Artists throughout history has influenced and moved us forward from time to time with their new techniques, methods, and materials as they produced art in their own way. In such, Art movements and their artists has been the fundamental support of the following generation of artists. Edgar Degas was one of the most influential impressionist back in the 19TH century, at a time when impressionism wasn’t recognized as real art by academic art at the time. Degas’ view of impressionism was different from other impressionists. He had a preference of human condition rather than nature in his works and resulted in what was seen as alternative impressionism.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Film adaptations may attract criticism especially when they involve a popular work with loyal reader base. It is not always possible to have a faithful adaptation which may upset either the fans of the novel or the novel’s author itself. Adaptations and subsequent creative licenses taken by the director create problems because “although some novels take very well to the screen, others depend for their power and development on their lengthiness, and they seem thin or abrupt on the screen” (Baker 191).

L13

There is a very clear difference between an “artsy” film and a Hollywood blockbuster; the amount of commerce they bring in boils down to the elementary idea of the individual versus the group. Arthur Knight is quoted in the text by saying, “Art is not manufactured by committees. Art comes from an individual who has something that he must express…” In the lecture Professor Hartmann made mention of films considered to be true art are limited release.

Philosophy on Preservice Early Childhood Teacher Education

The education that early childhood education teachers get from the universities they are enrolled in play a great role in establishing their behavior and their concentration on the responsibilities they have in relation to the profession they chose to embrace. Teaching others is indeed a noble work to pick. It does not only involve passing on knowledge to the next generation but also the endless sacrifice of unpaid efforts to establish lesson plans that are supposed to give attention to what the students are to get during their stay in class. This is especially true with that of the situation concerning early childhood education learners. Their needs are nothing less than specific. Teachers handling early childhood education classes ought to be given with the right chance to expand their skills in understanding what their students need and responding to such needs accordingly. To be able to establish a good source of understanding their responsibilities, individuals wanting to master the principles of the said profession are given particular options that could further improve the way they handle their role in the classroom and even outside its limitations. In the discussion that follows, a distinction on the philosophies believed to provide a good source of understanding on how teachers could improve their way of teaching and relating to their students in class.
